Lowering carbon emissions, diverting trash from landfills, conserving water use and promoting involvement among students, faculty, and staff. Energy & Utilities thrives on all these initiatives.


As part of Facilities Management, we are responsible for your homes, your classrooms, your offices and all of the places on Grounds that enable living, learning and prospering. We take our job seriously and invite you to learn more and join us in our important work.


 New Office of Sustainability Director


We are pleased to announce that Andrea Ruedy Trimble joined the University to lead our Office of Sustainability. 
Andrea came to U.Va. from Harvard where she was the Senior Program Manager of the Green Building Services department and a faculty member in the Harvard Extension School's Sustainability and Environmental Management program.  She holds a Master of Science in Historic Preservation from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech. Andrea also completed a Master of Liberal Arts in Sustainability and Environmental Management at Harvard Extension School while employed full-time.  She is currently on the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education's (AASHE) Advisory Council and is an AASHE STARS Buildings Technical Advisor.
