Many of the operations conducted by Facilities Management are subject to environmental regulations. The Environmental Engineer has responsibility, in conjunction with the Office of Environmental Health and Safety, to oversee the compliance activities and procedures for Facilities Management. The primary environmental programs facilitated:

• Air permit compliance by the University’s heat plants and miscellaneous combustion sources,
• Stormwater management planning,
• Refrigerant management,
• SPCC Plan compliance, and
• Environmental management system (EMS) development.
