The University Environmental Coalition

The goal of the UEC is to foster a sense of community among the green organizations on grounds, work on original grounds-wide projects, and become or remain educated and involved in events and causes other green organizations have planned.

Our current focus is a collaborative Earth Day presentation, such as an Enviro-fair on the lawn. We will be holding monthly open-dialogue meetings in Clark. Contact Liz Spellman if interested: .

UEC members can access a collective information page on Collab. Contact Liz for access to the Collab site.

Student Council Environmental Sustainability Committee

The Committee works to advocate progress toward a more environmentally-conscious and sustainable University. We focus on the seven "Management Centers" outlined by the University Sustainability Assessment (2006): Waste and Recycling, Landscape and Land Use, Energy, Water, Built Environment, Transportation, and Dining. We look to collaborate with existing student efforts and University initiatives on sustainability, as well as suggest and implement innovative ideas for a greener U.Va.
